When I had my first son, Ben, I was still working in corporate america. I was able to take 12 weeks off for maternity leave, 5 weeks were paid at 60% and the rest was taken unpaid. Those were some stressful weeks. Tom and I were already living close to paycheck to paycheck and having to give up one source of income for so many weeks in a row, it was really challenging and added so much stress to a really beautiful season of life.

We budgeted our money, spent most of the 12 weeks cooped up at home and we made it work. I will never forget when the hospital bill arrived in our mailbox. We were focusing on just surviving and making ends meet so I could take off the time to be home with Ben and had no idea where we were going to find the extra money to pay off the bills. I called the hospital and begged them to lower our monthly payment and even then, the amount was tough for us to find a way to pay.

I was one year into my business at this time and I remember vowing to myself that I would never again be in a situation where I had to choose between spending time with my precious newborn and helping provide for our family.

Mama got to WORK. Like any business, mine wasn’t a get rich quick thing. The first year of my business was a LOT of hard work, a lot of training and learning the business. I was starting my online fitness business with almost no followers, no network of clients, etc. I worked my business throughout my unpaid maternity leave and even harder once I returned back to work. I was busy with a newborn, working 40+ hours in corporate america and had a long commute…but that time with my baby was SO important to me, that I was willing to hustle in every crack of my day to assure that one day, mama would be HOME for good, rather than juggling a job outside the home and mom life.

When Ben was a year and a half, I gave my notice and quit day job so I could be my own boss.

Now, I work for ME. Maternity leave is paid at 100% for as long as I want. My hours are determined by ME. Vacation time is determined by ME. The work I choose to do is determined by ME. And my job now feels more like self care and something that gives me purpose, rather than work.

I am grateful I hustled because now, this mama never has to choose between her kids or a paycheck. I can have both.

I have been a full time fitness coach for over 3.5 years and I love that I never have to miss out on a field trip, school drop off, pick up, class party, doctors appointment…or Brady’s first smile, first giggle, first word, etc.

I am hosting two webinars this week for anyone who is curious about what I do for a living and how you can do it too. Our team is #8 in the entire network of over 400,000 teams and we are extremely passionate about helping others, paying it forward and working hard for our dreams and goals.

I will be mentoring and partnering with 10 new women starting next week. I am specifically looking for someone who wants MORE. Someone who is a hard worker, self motivated and is willing to work for what they want. I have been able to turn my dreams into my reality and I want to teach you how to do the same.

I will discuss:

  • What I do for a living

  • What my day to day looks like

  • How much it costs to start your business

  • How you can earn income

  • Info about our team of Fearlessly Fit coaches

  • What my mentoring and training looks like
